To My Fellow Cigar Lovers...
Cigars have long been a special treat for me but I could never find the time or a place to enjoy them as much as I wanted.
With a growing construction company and other businesses to run, it never occurred to me to take the time out to open a cigar store. Then in 2005 we began construction of several strip malls and I started thinking how easy it would be to design a state-of-the-art air filtration system that could make the perfect space for a cigar store and smoking club. Besides, I was tired of having to go out of town to find the premium cigars I wanted.
Three years later, we have two stores and we just might open a couple more. Once in awhile I think we owe it to ourselves to take a risk and have a little fun in business.
I wasn’t expecting Angelina’s Cigars to be so successful, given the social pressure for not smoking and the constant threat of ever-stricter smoking bans (and don’t get me started on the tobacco taxes!). But it seems there are still a few people left out there who agree we should have the right to smoke a good cigar once in awhile without worrying that every non-smoker within a hundred miles is going to suddenly attack us and throw us under a speeding bus.
I think we need a little less government interference in our daily lives, a little more respect for the rights of others to choose their own personal indulgences, and a few more comfortable places where we can still smoke a good cigar in peace.
